Goodbye, Benson...

The reason why I've not blogged lately is because I was saddened by the sudden death of my pet snake Benson. After the last feeding frenzy last week, he was found by my security personnel dead inside his aquarium three days later... Goodbye, Benson. You will be missed by everyone.

So all this time, I was just thinking that I'd need to find me a new pet. Last night, I took a bottle of San Mig Light at the MFC Bar before the long drive home and guess what? From the corner of my eye, I saw a most familiar "movement" from under the audio console cabinet and I honestly thought that I was being haunted by Benson's spirit. We took a closer look and it was a less than a meter long reticulated python same as Benson but with a slightly variant skin print and I'd say by its length that it was about 3-4 months old.

So just as I have ordered my security chief to be on the look out for my new pet, nature delivers one to me.

I haven't named it yet because we haven't determined if it was a he or a she. Today, I'll have her cleaned up and I promise not to over feed it.

Benson the Python

my pet snake, benson the python after having shed his skin gets really hungry and gobbles up 4 mice one after the other. This is actually the first time we've ever seen him eat as he is usually shy eating out in public. i even think that he was still hungry but i can't give him anymore since i only asked my security officer to buy 5 mice and we gave out one to benson's brother out back.

Lost and Found?

My pet snake Benson disappeared last week... we searched for him frantically until we gave up. Two days later he reappears. Welcome back Benson.

a night @ the MFC Bar

My best friend Jack (Daniels) keeps me company no matter what the occasion is. And I really like sharing him with friends. George Thorogood sang songs of his pals Jim, Johnny and Jack, and their cousins black and red.

Of course, as usual, my best pet Benson was there to share the moment.

Benson the Python... Bored in the Office

He doesn't wear a tie to work... because he looks like one. He ate his best friend Donnie Daga and now they are one. He hates it inside the office because he thinks that it's too cold, so he hangs around the lamp shade. My daughter loves him and my wife hates him.

Benson

When I was younger, I loved pets but hated the responsibility that came with it. Of course, on the very fortunate side, my father loved them and loved taking care of them. There was a time when we had about fourteen cats until we got a cat I named Satur who became the alpha male of the entire block and he drove every cat away within a 2-kilometer radius. That cat was lovable in a macho kind of way and he stayed with us until my Father's death and a week later also passed away.

Prior to Satur, we also had two American Mongrels that I later sold for a measly sum of Php400 to start my t-shirt printing business. That money went a long way as my business thrived for more than two years until the Binondo businessmen killed the industry in my town.

After I married, my wife was not exactly that keen on pets so we never really had the opportunity to take pets into the house.

Almost two weeks ago, my Security Officer informed me that one maintenance personnel chanced upon a python in the grassy area behind the building so I told him that I would be keeping it for a pet.

The python already took a bite at one of my staff so they had to tape its mouth and I had to carry it around for two days so that he'd get used to my scent. And I named him Benson after a tv sitcom character in the 80's and I've been carrying him around since.
